A widespread winter weather advisory has been issued across mountainous regions of Colorado, with forecasters warning of heavy snowfall, strong winds, and hazardous travel conditions through Sunday night.
The National Weather Service (NWS) reports that multiple high-elevation areas will experience significant late-season snow, particularly above 9,000 feet.
Snowfall and Wind Conditions
Snow accumulations are expected to range between 6 and 12 inches across several regions, including the Flat Tops, Southwest San Juan Mountains, and the Elk and Sawatch ranges. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph, increasing the risk of blowing snow and reduced visibility.
