A late-season winter system has prompted the National Weather Service (NWS) to issue Winter Weather Advisories across 14 counties in Montana and Wyoming, warning residents of hazardous travel conditions and significant snowfall through Monday.
According to the National Weather Service, snow accumulations will vary widely depending on elevation and location, with the heaviest snowfall expected in mountainous regions.
In the Pryor and Bighorn mountain areas spanning both states, snowfall totals are forecast between 4 and 9 inches, accompanied by wind gusts reaching up to 35 mph. These conditions are expected to develop Sunday afternoon and persist through midday Monday.
