A new national analysis by Realtor.com confirms what many Birmingham renters have begun to sense — the city’s rental market has turned firmly in tenants’ favor. Birmingham ranked as the second steepest decline from pandemic peak of any major US city, with median asking rent down 17.1% from its high-water mark. Only Austin, Texas has seen a sharper drop.
