Arlington man found guilty in 2024 Lake Stevens murder

EVERETT, Wash. — A Snohomish County jury has found a man guilty of killing 37-year-old Katie A. McQueen in 2024. 

The jury found Mark Downey, 58, guilty on April 8 of second-degree murder in her death. Downey is believed to have killed McQueen, of Mariposa, Calif., on Aug. 9, 2024, in Lake Stevens. Over one week later, her body was found in a rural area of Lake Stevens, with trauma to her neck.
