Seattle’s iconic, but troubled Sinking Ship garage closed after years of violence

SEATTLE — The iconic Sinking Ship parking garage in Seattle’s Pioneer Square neighborhood has been closed for more than a month after years of violence. 

So far, no one in a position of authority is confirming why, or what happens next.

The garage occupies prime real estate on the edge of downtown Seattle and historic Pioneer Square. Its location, just steps from several nightclubs, made it a popular late-night destination.
