SEATTLE — Bringing the NBA back to Seattle could deliver more than a nostalgic boost. Local business leaders say it could help fuel downtown’s ongoing economic momentum.
Jon Scholes, president and CEO of the Downtown Seattle Association, said the city is in a far stronger position than when the SuperSonics left in 2008 — with about 200,000 more people now living in Seattle. He also pointed to more hotel capacity and expanded regional transit as key changes that would support a modern NBA franchise.
