Seattle TSA officer says morale is declining as government shutdown continues

Longtime TSA employee Jawann Howard and his colleagues have been working without pay since mid-February.

SEATAC, Wash. — Jawann Howard stands alone near the home dugout at Lincoln High School in Tacoma, quietly cheering on his son’s baseball team in what has become a welcome distraction from the growing stress he and his colleagues are facing at work. 

“With all that going on? Yes sir,” he told KING 5, while describing the tranquility of an afternoon at the ballpark. “Relaxing. Peaceful. Away from all the issues. It’s a beautiful game.”
