SNOQUALMIE, Wash. — A contentious neighborhood meeting in Snoqualmie erupted into shouting and jeering Tuesday night as residents pushed back against a corporation’s proposal to build a lithium-ion battery storage facility near their homes.
The meeting, hosted by Jupiter Power, ended abruptly after tensions escalated between community members and the project’s lead developer, Hans Detweiler, who is seeking to build the facility on a 45-acre site behind Fisher Creek Park in Snoqualmie Ridge, near homes and within a mile of an elementary school.
