An atmospheric river threatens western Washington with significant rainfall, prompting a Flood Watch for several counties.
SEATTLE — A Flood Watch was issued for parts of western Washington this week as an atmospheric river takes aim at the region.
King, Snohomish, Skagit and Whatcom counties are under a Flood Watch from Wednesday afternoon through Friday afternoon. Mason County is under the same advisory beginning Tuesday afternoon.
The National Weather Service warns heavy rainfall, high snow levels around 8,000 feet and snowmelt runoff could cause rivers to flood, especially in low-lying and flood-prone areas. Rivers are expected to run high through Friday and recede this
