SEATTLE — The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) announced Monday that it will temporarily pause construction projects in high-traffic areas during the 2026 FIFA World Cup this summer.
According to the announcement, SDOT will require contractors to clear public spaces by June 7 unless granted an exception. The pause will last for nearly one month, beginning at midnight June 8 and ending at midnight July 7. Originally, SDOT planned to end the pause in mid-July.
