A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for parts of northern Indiana and southwest Michigan, with forecasters warning that lake-effect snow and strong winds could create hazardous travel conditions early this week.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Northern Indiana announced that the advisory will remain in effect from 8 a.m. EDT Monday until 11 a.m. EDT Tuesday, impacting several counties across the region.
Officials say snowfall totals between 2 and 5 inches combined with wind gusts up to 40 mph could reduce visibility and make roads slippery, especially during the Monday evening commute.
