Daniel Jones knows the Indianapolis Colts need him much more than he needs them, which has led to a wild contract ask. Jones reportedly turned down a three-year, $100M offer from Indianapolis, which would have paid him almost identically to the contract Sam Darnold signed with the Seahawks a year ago. That offer made sense with the shared DNA of breakout performances after being freed from bad New York-based teams — but Jones said no.
Instead Jones’ camp asked the Colts for a deal in the range of $50M per year, according to Albert Breer of SI. This would have been more money than Patrick Mahomes or Matthew Stafford make
