All 33 people face charges of first-degree criminal trespass.
SEATTLE — King County prosecutors have charged 33 people with trespassing in connection with the occupation of the University of Washington’s Interdisciplinary Engineering Building in May 2025 that resulted in about $1 million in damage.
In a statement, the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office said the charges were not filed earlier because investigators were considering possible felony charges. However, UW police investigators determined there was insufficient evidence to support felony counts.
