MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — Instead of celebrating her daughter’s 20th birthday Monday, GuruBani Whitney Young carried on a family tradition of blowing out a single candle, wishing peace on her daughter’s soul.
“Naturally, it’s an emotional time for me, navigating my daughter’s 20th birthday and celebrating without her here. It brings up a lot of tender memories, good memories thankfully. But also, extremely painful to have another milestone bday without her being physically here to celebrate,” said Young.
