A narrow but intense band of heavy snow is forecast to impact portions of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa on Saturday, prompting the National Weather Service (NWS) to issue Winter Weather Advisories for 18 counties across the three states.
Forecasters warn that snowfall rates could reach 1 to 2 inches per hour, creating hazardous travel conditions during the advisory period.
The advisories, issued by the NWS offices in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and Twin Cities/Chanhassen, Minnesota, will remain in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. CST Saturday.
