EVERETT, Wash. — Everett Mayor Cassie Franklin issued a mayoral directive Tuesday reaffirming the city’s commitment to serving immigrant residents and establishing new protocols for how city staff and law enforcement interact with federal immigration enforcement.
The move follows ICE arrests in Everett in recent months, sparking fear in the community.
Under the directive, federal immigration enforcement agents are prohibited from accessing non-public areas of city-owned facilities without a judicial warrant. City staff are also required to immediately report any enforcement activity that occurs
