Man facing multiple charges for ignoring crossing guard at Pierce County school

The 34-year-old man is charged with reckless driving, two counts of driving with a suspended license, and one count of obstructing an officer.

PUYALLUP, Wash. — A Pierce County man is facing multiple charges after sheriff’s deputies say he drove through a school crosswalk near dismissal time, disregarded a school crossing guard while a child was in the crosswalk, and later posted his own video of the encounter online.

The incident unfolded about two weeks ago at Glacier View Junior High School in South Hill.

Surveillance footage released by authorities shows a car moving toward a marked crosswalk as a crossing guard assists students.
