A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for portions of northern Indiana through Monday afternoon, as lake effect snow and gusty winds are expected to create hazardous travel conditions across at least three counties.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), additional snow accumulations between 2 and 5 inches are forecast across La Porte, St. Joseph, and Porter counties, with locally higher totals possible in some areas. The advisory also includes neighboring counties in southwest Michigan.
The NWS Northern Indiana office reported early Sunday morning that lake effect snow will continue through 1 p.m. EST (noon CST) Monday. Forecasters warned that winds could gust up to 30 mph,
