Seattle council advances vision for Westlake transit hub

City leaders are laying the groundwork for a coordinated transit hub at Westlake — but what changes, and when, remains unclear.

SEATTLE — Seattle city leaders are taking an early step toward reshaping one of downtown’s busiest blocks.

A City Council committee on Friday advanced a resolution affirming a vision to develop a coordinated regional transportation hub adjacent to Westlake Park. The measure sets guiding principles intended to align future light rail expansion, possible monorail upgrades and planned improvements to Westlake Park so they function as a cohesive hub rather than separate projects.
