A sweeping winter weather system is set to impact large portions of southern New England on Friday, prompting multiple advisories from the National Weather Service.
Mixed precipitation, including snow, sleet, and freezing rain, is expected to create hazardous travel conditions from late Friday morning through early Saturday.
The most extensive advisories were issued by the National Weather Service Boston/Norton MA, covering northern Connecticut, much of central and eastern Massachusetts, and parts of northern Rhode Island. The advisory remains in effect from 10 a.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Saturday.
