Beloved Monroe Reptile Zoo closes after 30 years, but animals find new homes

The Monroe Reptile Zoo hosted visitors for the last time Monday after 30 years of delighting families with its collection of snakes, turtles and alligators.

MONROE, Wash. — For three decades, the Monroe Reptile Zoo has fascinated children and families with its collection of slippery, slimy and scaly creatures. On Monday, the attraction closed its doors permanently, but a new operator will take over the facility and most of its reptiles.
