SEATTLE — There were more than enough Seahawks fans to stick out in a crowd of thousands in San Jose, California, on Friday as the city kicked off its weekend celebrations in conjunction with the Super Bowl in Santa Clara.
More than 15,000 people are expected this weekend at San Jose 2026, an initiative to capitalize on large crowds during the Super Bowl, NCAA men’s basketball tournament and the World Cup in the Bay Area this year.
“We were in San Francisco yesterday, San Francisco is a little too crowded,” said Zebene Assefa. “We’re from Newcastle, we can’t take that crowd! This is perfect. It feels like we’re in Seattle.”
