The National Weather Service has issued an urgent Winter Storm Watch for parts of central and western Pennsylvania, warning residents to prepare for heavy snow, strong winds, near-blizzard conditions, and dangerously cold wind chills beginning Friday morning and lasting through Saturday morning.
The alert was issued by multiple National Weather Service offices, including State College and Pittsburgh, as a strong Arctic front moves into the region. Forecasters warn that conditions may deteriorate rapidly, especially in higher elevations.
