Bronto and River join the zoo’s Red Wolf Woods habitat as part of a continued effort to protect the endangered species.
TACOMA, Wash. — Two critically endangered American red wolves are settling into their new home at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, joining the zoo’s Red Wolf Woods habitat as part of a nationwide conservation effort.
Bronto, a male born in 2019, and River, a female born in 2022, recently arrived from the zoo’s off-site red wolf facility. Their move supports the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ SAFE American Red Wolf program, which aims to rebuild one of North America’s rarest native species.
