OAK HARBOR, Wash. — Walking home from school should be the least stressful part of any kid’s day.
But that’s not always the case at Olympic View Elementary in Oak Harbor, where parents say dangerous crosswalks have led to several close calls between vehicles and children.
“You need to be careful because kids can walk out of school and people don’t really care,” said fourth grader Cassidy Cadaret.
“I have a close call at least once a month,” added her mother, Lily Eslick.
