LA CONNER, Wash. — Anyone with kids knows you never stop being a parent, no matter how old your child or you become.
Stella Doyle is 36. Born with significant developmental disabilities, she has the intellectual capability of a second grader and can’t live on her own.
“She can’t use the phone. So she wouldn’t be able to call for help or make a judgment about anything that might happen,” said her mother, Peggy Doyle.
