SEATTLE — Both directions of the Highway 99 tunnel in Seattle have reopened after a car fire shut down the lanes for several hours on Thursday night.
The southbound and northbound lanes were closed around 7:30 p.m.
Seattle firefighters extinguished the car fire, but the tunnel remained closed until 11 p.m.
Drivers were urged to seek alternate routes and drive with caution.
