A contagious family from South Carolina recently visited Snohomish County and measles is now spreading locally, officials say.
SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — Snohomish County is seeing a measles outbreak after a contagious family from South Carolina visited the area in recent weeks, according to the Snohomish County Health Department.
Three new measles cases were confirmed this week in kids in Snohomish County who were exposed to the South Carolina family.
“These three new cases amount to an outbreak – a sign the disease is now spreading locally,” health officials said in a Jan. 15 statement.
