Protesters in Puyallup speak out against Pierce County sheriff’s stance on ICE shooting

In Puyallup, protesters gathered to protest comments made by Sheriff Keith Swank on the ICE shooting in Minneapolis, highlighting local tension.

PUYALLUP, Wash. — More than 100 people gathered in Puyallup on Friday night for a peaceful protest following criticism of comments made by Pierce County Sheriff Keith Swank and an event featuring former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

The protest took place down the street from a “Save Our Sheriffs Rally,” an event focused on preserving the authority of elected sheriffs in Washington state.
