“KPop Demon Hunters” screenwriters Danya Jimenez and Hannah McMechan are taking on some massive new IP — signing on to script Tim Burton‘s reimagining of the classic “.”
Warner Bros. Pictures tapped the writing duo to write the screenplay for the film, news of which broke in 2024. Burton is attached to direct the update to the 1958 science-fiction horror movie, which follows a wealthy heiress who grows into a giant after an alien encounter and exacts revenge on her cheating husband. The “Beetlejuice” and “Nightmare Before Christmas” filmmaker is also producing the film alongside Andrew Mittman and Tommy Harper. Gillian Flynn penned an earlier version of the script.
