“Tron: Ares” will park its light cycle at Disney+, as the movie arrives on the streamer on Jan. 7.
The science-fiction film is the third in the “Tron” franchise, following the 1982 original and its 2010 sequel, “Tron: Legacy.” It focuses on a powerful AI being called Ares that travels from the eponymous digital program into the real world. Jared Leto stars as the personified AI alongside Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo Castro, Gillian Anderson and Jeff Bridges, who reprises his role as protagonist Kevin Flynn from the previous two movies.
