PUYALLUP, Wash. — A Puyallup man says the last two months felt like an eternity after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested him outside a Lowe’s, as part of a broader push encouraging agents to target big-box retail stores.

Julian “Vicente” Ortiz Velazquez was taken into custody on Nov. 4 after leaving the Lowe’s parking lot in Puyallup with a truck full of lumber. His wife, Shauna, said unmarked vehicles surrounded him as he pulled onto South Fruitland.
