Newly opened terminal spaces are moving holiday travelers Tuesday. A windstorm on Wednesday is not expected to impact flights, the airport says.
SEATAC, Wash. — Holiday travel is well underway at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and airport officials say crowds are moving through more smoothly than many travelers might expect as Christmas approaches.
Airport spokesperson Perry Cooper said nearly all passengers are clearing TSA security checkpoints in 30 minutes or less this year, with many getting through in about 20 minutes. Officials credit redesigned checkpoints, newly opened terminal spaces and the reopening of Alaska Airlines’ ticketing area for improving passenger flow.
