Pacific resident in unique position to help city rebuild after flooding

Eric Petersen, who works for an excavating company, jumped into immediate action after a levee breach along the White River.

PACIFIC, Wash. — As King County engineering crews and independent contractors raced to repair a broken flood levee along the White River in Pacific, one crewmember did so with extra motivation. 

Eric Petersen works for Ceccanti, Inc, an excavating company that works on a variety of projects throughout Puget Sound. He also lives in Pacific, which flooded early Tuesday when the flood wall was breached. 

“It was hard to watch happen,” he said, pausing to collect his thoughts. “Yeah… it was quite the morning.”
