Evacuation orders partially lifted in Pacific after levee failure

Some Pacific residents can return home Wednesday night after floodwaters receded in parts of the city.

PACIFIC, Wash. — Evacuation orders were partially lifted in Pacific Wednesday night after floodwaters receded in parts of the city following a temporary levee failure earlier this week, though restrictions remain in neighborhoods closest to the White River.

In a 5:50 p.m. update, the City of Pacific released a color-coded map outlining where residents may return home and where evacuations remain in place. Areas that remain under evacuation orders include White River Estates, Park View and the Megan Court Apartments.
