Western Washington continues to deal with the impacts of an atmospheric river.
SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — The Skykomish School District is closed Wednesday as the Skykomish River is forecast to crest well into major flood stage, creating a risk on Highway 2.
“With forecasts indicating river levels well info major flood stage, transportation access along Highway 2 becomes unpredictable,” the district wrote on its Facebook page. “Because Highway 2 is the only reliable route for student transportation, this creates an unacceptable risk of students and staff being unable to travel safely during the school day.”
