Families lined up early, saying the debut of Seattle’s new pro women’s hockey team offered their daughters a moment of visibility they never had themselves.
SEATTLE — The line formed early outside Climate Pledge Arena, long before the puck dropped. Families stood in line hours before doors opened anticipating a team that, until now, had never played a game at home: the Seattle Torrent.
“Been counting down the days until we could go in and make a big noise for our girls,” said Rachel Sullivan, who brought her young daughter, Remi.
Rachel and Remi were among the first in line.
