KING COUNTY, Wash. — King County recorded its lowest number of shooting incidents in four years, according to the latest quarterly report from the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, which shows gun violence has dropped sharply compared to recent years.
The Q3 report shows a 65% decrease in overall shooting victims compared to Q3 of 2021, and a 57% decrease compared to Q3 of 2023. Both fatal and nonfatal shooting incidents are down almost 50% from 2021, marking the lowest levels since before the pandemic.
