Parents demand action after shooting near south Seattle preschool

No one was hurt in the Nov. 21 shooting, but families said crime in the neighborhood has worsened in recent years.

SEATTLE — Parents are demanding action after a shooting last Friday near a Columbia City preschool left children caught in the crossfire.

Riann Tice had just picked up her 2-year-old son when she heard five or six gunshots while strapping him into his car seat.

“I knew they were close because I had never heard something so loud,” Tice said through her tears.
