Kent nonprofit gives 300 boxes of Thanksgiving dinners in honor of Transgender Awareness Week

UTOPIA Washington serves people who identify as LGBTQIA+ or Two Spirit.

KENT, Wash. — Staff members at UTOPIA Washington packed 300 Thanksgiving meal boxes Tuesday, prioritizing queer and trans Pacific Islanders impacted by cuts to federal nutrition assistance.

The Kent-based organization distributed the holiday meals across King County as part of Transgender Awareness Week, which runs Nov. 13-19 and precedes Transgender Day of Remembrance on Nov. 20.
