Bear Gulch Fire in the Olympics 100% contained 5 months later

Areas inside the perimeter of the Bear Gulch Fire may continue to smolder.

LAKE CUSHMAN, Wash. — The fire that burned more than 20,000 acres in the Olympics over the past five months is considered to be contained, fire officials announced Monday.

Areas inside the perimeter of the Bear Gulch Fire may continue to smolder, but the biggest concern now is possible debris flows that may impact Forest Service Road 24 and developed areas around Lake Cushman, according to officials.
