Mother seeks answers after daughter’s remains found in Mason County

On Sept. 15, Mallory Barbour’s remains were found on timber land in Mason County. Investigators believe she died of homicidal violence.

BOTHELL, Wash. — Denise Barbour keeps busy rebuilding scrapbooks of her daughter Mallory, trying to manage the grief she knows will deepen with time.

“I’m still in shock,” she said. “It’s just a matter of trying to … find the person who actually harmed my daughter.”

Mallory, 27, had been missing since late June. On Sept. 15, her remains were found on timber land in Mason County, nearly 90 miles from the victim’s residence in Bothell. Investigators believe she died of homicidal violence.
