Jury awards $8M to student punched by Seattle teacher

Seattle Public Schools will pay $8 million to a former student who was punched in the face by a teacher who had a history of aggressive behavior toward students.

SEATTLE — A former student who was punched by a Seattle Public Schools (SPS) teacher in 2018 will receive $8 million from the district as awarded by a grand jury on Thursday.
