Vandals damaged CARES Animal Shelter’s vehicles, but swift community support and local businesses helped repair the damage and donated supplies.
BURIEN, Wash. — A Burien animal shelter is turning heartbreak into hope after vandals targeted its vehicles over the weekend, thanks to a swift community response and support from local businesses.
Officials at CARES Animal Shelter say two individuals vandalized their truck and van early Saturday morning around 5:15 a.m., slashing six tires, smashing three windows, and breaking a large passenger mirror. The shelter’s staff were deeply shaken by the attack.
