Seattle sees last 6 p.m. sunset until spring as ‘The Big Dark’ looms

After Dec. 21, daylight will gradually increase each day as the region begins its slow march back toward spring.

SEATTLE — The sun set after 6 p.m. Sunday for the last time until March, marking the beginning of Seattle’s darkest stretch of the year.

Sunday brought just over 10 hours of daylight to the Emerald City, but conditions will worsen next weekend when Daylight Saving Time ends.
