Alaska Airlines apologizes as IT outage ripple effects continue

In a Friday update, Alaska Airlines acknowledged that “this level of performance is not acceptable” and apologized to more than 49,000 affected travelers.

SEATAC, Wash. — Travelers are still feeling the ripple effects from Thursday’s Alaska Airlines ground stop, as the airline works to resolve issues from a system-wide IT outage that canceled more than 400 flights and disrupted travel plans for more than 49,000 passengers.

In a Friday update, Alaska Airlines acknowledged that “this level of performance is not acceptable” and apologized to all affected travelers.
