South Seattle suffers from string of armed carjackings

On Oct. 13, police say two people armed with guns carjacked a young couple on Rainier Avenue. Days later, Seattle police reported two additional armed carjackings.

SEATTLE — Detectives are searching for connections in a series of reported carjackings across South Seattle this month.

The string of incidents began with an attempted carjacking in Columbia City, followed by another in Rainier Valley, where a couple was held at gunpoint. Then on Friday, two more armed carjackings were reported within minutes from each other, all in South Seattle.

Earlier this month, a Seattle mother described her terrifying encounter in broad daylight.
