Two teams from the Savannah Bananas’ orbit will be playing at Cheney Stadium next year.
TACOMA, Wash. — Banana Ball is coming to Tacoma in 2026, but it won’t be the renowned Savannah Bananas themselves taking the field at Cheney Stadium.
On May 22-24, the Savannah Party Animals will take on a new team to the Bananas universe: the Indianapolis Clowns. Banana Ball owner Jesse Cole said he was “inspired” by the story of the Clowns, which played as part of the Negro Leagues from 1943-54. According to MLB, their barnstorming tours lasted into the 1960s.
