Seattle says it ‘stands united’ with Portland after Trump threatens troop surge

SEATTLE — Washington state officials voiced support for Portland on Saturday after President Donald Trump threatened to deploy federal troops to the city.

In a social media post, Trump said he had directed the Department of Defense to “provide all necessary Troops to protect War ravaged Portland,” adding that he was “also authorizing Full Force, if necessary.”
