Military identifies four soldiers who died in helicopter crash near Olympia

The military said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

OLYMPIA, Wash. — The U.S. military revealed the identities Monday of the four servicemembers who died after a helicopter crashed during a training mission near Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM).

The crash occurred late on the night of Sept. 17 near Summit Lake, just outside of Olympia during “routine flight training,” officials said. Deputies located the site of the crash on Wednesday night which is approximately 20 minutes west of Olympia and 30 minutes west of JBLM.
